Community unites to revamp Tennessee Baptist Children's Time

During a recent government meeting, community members highlighted significant projects aimed at enhancing local recreational spaces. One notable initiative involved improvements at the Tennessee Baptist Children's Home, which is currently undergoing construction. The project team focused on revitalizing the outdoor area, including the pool and pavilion. They provided new pool furniture, heavy-weighted umbrellas, and addressed maintenance issues by replacing and restaining damaged areas of the pool house. Additionally, a basketball goal was installed to promote fun and engagement for both children and adults during the summer months.

The project was made possible through extensive fundraising efforts, with contributions from team members and donations from local businesses, including Hardaway Construction and Bankcard. After covering all expenses, the team was also able to make a small donation to the Tennessee Baptist Children's Home.

In another highlight, Rob Eichard from the Liberty Downs neighborhood shared his experience as part of a team named B3, which commemorated a bear sighting in the community. The team worked on creating directional signs for new mountain bike trails in Smith Park, further enhancing the area's recreational offerings. These initiatives reflect a strong commitment to improving community spaces and fostering local engagement.
