City celebrates vibrant new mural at Boys and Girls Club

During a recent City Council meeting, Kathleen De Natale, chairperson of the Cultural Arts Commission, expressed her gratitude for the city's commitment to public art in Galveston. She announced an upcoming ribbon-cutting ceremony for a new mural at the Boys and Girls Club, created by artist Katherine Stroud in collaboration with club members and local volunteers. The event is scheduled for tomorrow at 5:30 PM at Avenue P and 45th, and De Natale encouraged community members and council members to attend and celebrate the mural's impact on the neighborhood.

In addition to the art initiative, Scott Gordon addressed the council, thanking them for their dedication and hard work during recent storm recovery efforts. He emphasized the significant contributions of city workers in overcoming the challenges posed by the storm, highlighting the collaborative spirit of the community in times of crisis.
