Community raises $82000 for new adoption trailer

In a recent government meeting, significant progress was reported regarding the funding and acquisition of a new adoption trailer for animal services. Josh announced that the Jordan's Way live Facebook event successfully raised $82,000, surpassing the initial goal. This funding will not only cover the purchase of the trailer but also allow for upgraded features, including two air conditioners and a more powerful generator, which are essential for the South Texas climate. The trailer is currently in production, with an expected release date set for November or December.

Additionally, preparations for the upcoming Paws Gala, scheduled for September 28 at the San Luis Convention Center, were discussed. Sponsorships are now available for the event, which aims to further support local animal welfare initiatives. Councilman Rollins took a moment to recognize community member Cindy Hood for her vital contributions during a recent crisis, highlighting her role in stabilizing the Holland House.
