Major funding approved for critical bridge repairs

In a recent meeting of the San Luis Valley Transportation Planning Region (TPR), key updates were shared regarding infrastructure projects and organizational changes. Chairman Vern Hersink led the session, which included discussions on the approval of previous meeting minutes and upcoming public meetings.

One significant topic was the ongoing repairs to a bridge, with a goal of completing initial critical repairs by July 4th, allowing for one-way traffic. This meeting will focus on program distribution and further discussions on the US 50 bridge project, which has seen an increase in authorized funding from $10 million to $20 million, indicating potential cost escalations.
