Community rallies for aviation monument approval

The organization is also working on restoring a 1962 aircraft, which has become a community project involving local youth.

The representative proposed the installation of a display airplane on a roundabout to celebrate the town's aviation heritage, noting that the community has shown strong support with over 400 signatures collected in just two weeks. The project, estimated to cost around $40,000, has received preliminary approval from local businesses and requires the town council's endorsement to proceed.

The pilot assured the council that the EAA would maintain the aircraft and ensure safety measures are in place.
