City launches ambitious plan to enhance neighborhood culture

The recent government meeting highlighted significant initiatives aimed at enhancing community safety and organizational culture.

One of the key discussions centered on hazardous tree management and stump removal in various neighborhoods, including Duis, Twin Towers, Dunbar, and Roosevelt. This initiative, part of the Dayton Recovery Plan, aims to address 114 hazardous trees and 65 stumps, continuing previous efforts in areas like Old North Dayton and Westwood. Officials emphasized the importance of these improvements for community safety and aesthetics.

Additionally, the meeting introduced a new partnership with Space Creator LLC, led by Daniel Juday, to enhance the employee experience within the organization. This initiative, which builds on previous work focused on diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), aims to assess and improve the organizational culture through a structured framework. Each department will tailor its approach to address specific cultural needs, ensuring a unified yet flexible strategy across the organization.

Commissioners expressed support for these initiatives, particularly the tree care program, which they believe will significantly benefit the community. The meeting concluded with a commitment to leveraging various funding sources, including federal funds and the Dayton Recovery Plan, to support these vital projects.
