Public Outcry Sparks Debate on Refugee Resettlement Policy

During a recent government meeting, the board of supervisors convened with a full roster, except for a few excused members. The meeting commenced with the approval of previous minutes, which passed unanimously after a motion by Supervisor Steen and a second from Supervisor Berndt.

Hayes presented documents, including a letter from the town of Otter Creek urging the board to address the resettlement issue and a draft resolution for a pause on refugee resettlement. She highlighted that neighboring counties have taken proactive measures regarding this matter, indicating a growing concern within the community.
