In a recent government meeting, officials celebrated significant funding achievements for infrastructure projects in Northern Arizona, particularly highlighting the completion of a crucial water and sewer replacement initiative at Fort Tuthill County Park. The project, which has been in the works for two years, received a total of $4 million, with $3.3 million allocated through congressional directed funds facilitated by the Army Corps of Engineers.
Supervisor Horstman expressed gratitude for the collaborative efforts that led to this funding, acknowledging the contributions of Senator Mark Kelly and Representative Greg Stanton, as well as the dedicated work of staff members, particularly Cynthia from the attorney's office. The funding will also support the Killip Detention Basin project in Flagstaff, which received $1.5 million following the museum fire, marking a significant day for the region.
The board unanimously approved the project partnership agreement, emphasizing the importance of these upgrades for public safety and compliance with sanitary standards. The meeting underscored the ongoing commitment of local officials to secure necessary resources for community development and infrastructure resilience.
