City Council Approves Key Diversity Equity Initiatives

In a recent city council meeting, significant strides were made in advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives. This report outlines the current status of DEI efforts in Monona and includes a prioritized list of recommendations for implementation. Additionally, the council highlighted the success of the city's annual electronics recycling initiative, which took place at the Marnagan School District offices. This year, the event collected over 10,000 pounds of electronic waste, surpassing last year's total and demonstrating a continued commitment to sustainability. The event included a variety of items, from dehumidifiers to televisions, showcasing the community's engagement in responsible waste disposal.

Looking ahead, the council is planning its next meeting for August 24, although scheduling adjustments may be necessary due to some members being out of the country. The council is considering using a Doodle poll to facilitate scheduling discussions for future meetings.
