Small business workshop empowers community for future growth

During a recent small business workshop held at the local library, approximately 18 to 20 participants engaged in discussions focused on building and growing business credit. The event was organized in collaboration with the Tech City of Lamarck Chamber of Commerce, a small business development center, and Texas First Bank. The workshop aimed to enhance the knowledge and preparedness of the small business community, which officials believe will yield long-term benefits.

Participants included individuals from neighboring cities such as Santa Fe and potentially Dickinson, indicating a regional interest in similar training opportunities to bolster local businesses.

In a poignant note, it was announced that The Art of Coffee, a beloved community hub known for hosting various events including talent competitions and poetry slams, will be closing its doors. The loss of this establishment is felt deeply within the community, with officials acknowledging its irreplaceable role in fostering social connections and cultural activities. Despite this setback, there is a commitment to attracting new businesses to fill the void and continue providing essential services to the community.
