Board of Health tackles mental health disparities in LGBTQ community

During a recent Board of Health meeting, members approved the minutes from the previous session and outlined a comprehensive agenda focused on public health initiatives. The meeting included discussions on the recruitment process for board membership for 2025, emphasizing the importance of current members and those interested in continuing their service.

A significant topic of discussion was a proposal to shift to quarterly prorated fee schedules for new permittees of solid waste facilities and transporters. This change aims to align the permit periods for solid waste transporters with those of solid waste facilities, alongside updates to the Washington Administrative Code references. Board members, particularly elected officials, were expected to vote on these proposed code changes and amendments following a briefing.
