Community leaders push for reparations and ancestral recognition

During a recent government meeting focused on reparations, officials emphasized the importance of community engagement and the historical context of their efforts. As the committee prepares to distribute funds from its initial reparations program, officials clarified that they will not initiate new processes until they complete the current program, which has nearly 500 residents involved.
