New development promises expansive park and modern townhomes

During a recent government meeting, discussions centered around the development of a new residential project that includes a significant park dedication and various housing options. The proposed project will feature a four-acre park, requested by the park district, which will be adjacent to the existing Hudson Point project. Once fully developed, the combined area will provide approximately eight to ten acres of park space for community use.

The project will include both rental townhomes and apartments, with a focus on distinguishing the two types of housing. Both will be three stories tall, but rental townhomes will offer rear-loaded garages and parking, allowing for direct access from the back of the units. In contrast, apartments will feature internal corridors, requiring residents to navigate stairs or elevators to reach their units. Additionally, rental townhomes are expected to have slightly larger square footage compared to apartments, although they will be smaller than for-sale townhomes.

The meeting also highlighted the single-family component of the project, which will consist of lots measuring 70 by 125 feet. These lots are comparable in size to those in the nearby Lennar development, which backs up to Wolfs Crossing Road. The project plans to ensure full access to Wolfs Crossing Road, enhancing connectivity for future residents.

Overall, the discussions underscored the project's potential to enrich the community with new housing options and recreational space, while also addressing the need for distinct architectural features to create a unique neighborhood identity.
