Key proposals involve the addition of multiple sports fields, including baseball, softball, soccer, and a Miracle League field designed for accessibility. The consultants emphasized the importance of creating safe and accessible routes throughout the park, as well as enhancing gathering spaces for community events.

The proposed layout features a central core with parking, concession areas, and restroom facilities, alongside various sports fields that cater to different age groups and abilities. The plan also includes the potential for a recreation center, which could provide indoor facilities for a range of sports, although this aspect remains a future consideration.

Financial implications were a significant focus of the discussion. The consultants provided a detailed financial performance analysis, projecting that the expanded complex could generate substantial revenue through tournament play and facility rentals. They estimated that with proper utilization, the facility could attract approximately 116,000 visitors annually, contributing an estimated $360,000 in additional sales and hotel occupancy taxes for the city.

However, some council members raised concerns about the inclusivity of the sports offerings, specifically the absence of facilities for basketball and volleyball. The consultants acknowledged these concerns, noting that while the current plan prioritizes fields for diamond sports and football, there is potential for future expansion across adjacent properties.

The meeting concluded with a commitment from city officials to market the new facility effectively, aiming to attract users and maximize its potential benefits for the community.
