Heroic officers honored for bravery in gunfire incident

During a recent government meeting, local law enforcement officers were honored for their bravery following a violent incident in December that left one officer injured. Sergeant Sloan, Officer Gillum, and Officer Camper were recognized for their heroic actions when they confronted a suspect who had fatally shot his father. Officer Camper was shot twice during the encounter but is currently recovering.

The officers were commended by the Virginia Association of Chiefs of Police, where they received the prestigious valor award. The governor highlighted their courageous deeds during the ceremony, emphasizing the importance of their service to the community.
