Mayor warns of $5000 fines for illegal fireworks

The meeting highlighted that the local sheriff's department has already issued 110 citations for illegal fireworks this season, a significant increase compared to previous years. The fines for such violations can reach up to $5,000, with a tiered structure: $2,000 for the first offense, $3,000 for the second, and $5,000 for any subsequent citations within the same year.
