During a recent government meeting, community service administrative assistant Evelyn Nunez announced an upcoming series of community cleanups in Hobbs, coinciding with National Cleanup Month in September. The initiative aims to engage residents in beautifying the city and fostering community spirit.
Nunez detailed that volunteers can register either in person at the community service office located at 301 North Delmont or via email. Registration forms must be submitted by Friday, September 6, ahead of the first cleanup event scheduled for Friday, September 13, at the Lovington Trail. Additional cleanups will take place on Saturday, September 21, at Marlin and Donahue Avenue, and on Sunday, September 29, at Pedigree Lane and Conquistador Lane.
The events are designed to be family-friendly and encourage participation from youth organizations, businesses, and non-profit groups. Nunez emphasized the importance of community involvement, stating, \"We would just love to see the community come out, put our efforts together to keep Hobbs clean and beautiful.\"
Promotional efforts for the cleanups will include social media announcements and flyers distributed through the City of Hobbs' platforms, ensuring broad outreach to encourage volunteer participation.
