Village trustee salary debate sparks call for inflation adjustment

He argued that, adjusted for inflation, this amount should be closer to $5,146 today. Balleck suggested that increasing trustee salaries could attract more candidates to run for office, thereby enhancing local governance. He urged the board to consider this adjustment in the coming weeks, highlighting the financial burdens faced by current trustees in fulfilling their duties.
