Finance department undergoes major leadership shakeup

During a recent government meeting, significant personnel changes were announced within the finance department, highlighting the achievements and new roles of key staff members.

Janie Hair has been promoted to finance director after nearly a decade with the district, having started her career in the Otter General's office. Her progression through various roles, including finance analyst and accounting manager, culminated in her recent position as senior manager over budget and grants. The announcement was met with applause and recognition from her family and colleagues, with many expressing that her promotion was long overdue.

Randy Hodson has been appointed to fill the senior manager role vacated by Hair. Hodson brings over 20 years of experience in accounting, previously serving as the director of finance for the Diocese of St. Petersburg. Her extensive background is expected to contribute positively to the department.

Additionally, Michelle Williams has transitioned into the role of administrator of special projects, focusing on fiscal compliance and reporting responsibilities. With over 34 years of service in the district, Williams has extended her retirement drop date to continue her work in this new capacity. Her previous experience as a principal and finance director has been acknowledged as instrumental in strengthening the district's financial operations.
