City proclaims Boys and Girls Club Week to empower youth

During a recent government meeting, the City Commission of Northport, Florida, celebrated significant achievements in workplace mental health and youth development.

The meeting commenced with the presentation of a prestigious platinum-level certification from Mental Health America, awarded to the Department of Human Resources for its commitment to fostering a positive workplace culture. This recognition highlights the department's efforts in mental health initiatives, which saw an increase in participation from 120 employees during May's mental health awareness programs. The department improved its rating from gold to platinum, achieving a score of 96% in its application, a testament to the support from city management and active employee engagement.

Following this, the commission proclaimed June 24th through June 28th, 2024, as Boys and Girls Club Week. This annual celebration, recognized since 1941, emphasizes the vital role that Boys and Girls Clubs play in supporting youth development across the nation.
