Community leaders demand urgent action to resolve environmental crisis

Mr. Azimi, a member of the Homeowners Association (HOA) and its treasurer, highlighted the significant drop in property prices, noting that a unit previously sold for $650,000 over two years ago is now receiving offers as low as $450,000. He attributed this decline to ongoing environmental problems, urging officials to expedite the cleanup process to alleviate both financial and health burdens on residents.

The public hearing saw no opposition to the proposed cleanup project, indicating strong community support for swift action. Planning Commissioner Vice Chair Mahecha acknowledged the economic implications of environmental cleanup, emphasizing that improving the environment benefits local businesses and the economy.
