Firefighters and police honored for heroic teamwork

During a recent government meeting, the contributions of local first responders were celebrated, highlighting their dedication and teamwork in the community. Captain Michener, a 14-year veteran and head of the Hazmat team, was recognized for his leadership and commitment to training younger members of the department. His efforts, along with those of Private Blake Thompson, a two-year emergency medical responder and dive team member, were particularly noted. Thompson, who comes from a family of firefighters, is carving out his own legacy within the department.
