Community rallies for urgent repairs at Knowlton park

During a recent government meeting, a passionate plea was made for the urgent maintenance and repair of Knowlton Park, a beloved community facility in Ellsworth. The speaker highlighted the park's playground and splash pad as vital resources for families, noting their frequent use.

An update from the recreation commission revealed that a comprehensive inspection had identified several safety-related repairs needed for the playground, with estimated costs ranging from $7,000 to $8,000. However, the commission expressed uncertainty about funding these repairs, as the fiscal year 2025 budget did not allocate resources for playground maintenance.
