Heroic duo saves life in dramatic rescue effort

During a recent government meeting, the Fair Oaks Ranch Police Department honored two individuals for their heroic actions in a life-saving incident that occurred on May 25, 2024. Police Chief More presented the Life Saving Award to Miss Madison Katie Gogler and K9 Officer David Magnus for their extraordinary efforts in a critical emergency.

The incident unfolded when officers were dispatched to a residence on Fair Oaks Parkway, where a male resident was suspected of suffering a heart attack. Upon arrival, Officer Magnus found Miss Gogler performing CPR on her father, who had stopped breathing. Demonstrating remarkable composure and skill, she had already been administering CPR for over four minutes.

Officer Magnus quickly utilized an automated external defibrillator (AED) from his vehicle, applying the device and delivering a necessary electric shock to restore the patient’s heart rhythm. He continued chest compressions until emergency medical services arrived, ultimately contributing to the successful resuscitation of the man.

The police chief emphasized the importance of community involvement in emergency situations, noting that Miss Gogler's knowledge of life-saving procedures and Officer Magnus's prompt response exemplified the critical role of teamwork in saving lives. The awards not only recognize their individual bravery but also reflect the commitment of the Fair Oaks Ranch Police Department to training and preparedness.
