Molly Olsen celebrates milestone as first paramedic graduate

During a recent commission meeting, Molly Olsen was celebrated for her significant achievements in the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) field. Having been sworn in approximately two years ago, Molly's journey began six years prior when a small group initiated efforts to enhance representation within EMS. This initiative, a collaboration between Madison College and Sun Prairie EMS, aimed to create pathways for underrepresented populations in the field.

Molly was recognized as the first participant in the county's inaugural EMS internship program, a milestone that set a high standard for future candidates. Her dedication and performance have made her a valuable asset to the EMS community, and her success is seen as a pivotal step towards increasing diversity in the profession.

At the meeting, Molly was awarded her paramedic badge and rocker, marking her graduation from the EMT course and her advancement to paramedic status.
