Community unites for vibrant drug prevention event

The City of Tuscany Council convened recently, beginning with a moment of reflection and the Pledge of Allegiance. Following the approval of the meeting minutes, council members were invited to share announcements.

Mister West took the floor to promote an upcoming community event scheduled for Saturday, August 24, 2024, at Annette Shelby Park. This event, a collaboration between Alpha Esquire Incorporated, Alpha Omicron Kappa, Inc., and Project Freedom, aims to engage the community in a day filled with excitement and education focused on drug prevention.

The event will feature a variety of activities, including bouncy houses and inflatable games, designed to entertain and involve attendees of all ages. A highlight will be the introduction of a new line dance, dubbed the \"Project Freedom\" line dance, which aims to foster community spirit while delivering a powerful message about drug awareness.

In addition to fun activities, the event will also serve as an overdose awareness memorial, honoring those lost to drug-related deaths and providing support to their families. Participants are encouraged to connect with the recovery community and contribute educational materials or resources to enhance the event's impact.

The council emphasized the importance of community involvement in creating a drug-free future, inviting all residents to join in this meaningful initiative.
