Fall Harvest Festival Promises Fun and Free Treats

The Lincoln Park Farmers Market is set to host its annual Fall Harvest Festival this Sunday, featuring free roasted corn, cider, and donuts, along with live music and a plant swap organized by the Lincoln Park Garden Club. The event will run from 11 AM to 3 PM, with four local farmers participating and accepting various payment methods, including EBT and credit cards.

During the recent city council meeting, officials praised the Farmers Market for its growth and success over the summer. Council members also highlighted local businesses, including Nina's Niche, which is expanding to include an indoor marketplace, and Santa Diablo, a new Venezuelan-Colombian restaurant hosting a presidential watch party.

The council discussed community events, including the citywide garage sale scheduled for September 13-15, and various upcoming activities such as Music Bingo on September 13, Mc Police Night at McDonald's on September 17, and a trunk or treat event on October 19. The Lincoln Park Historical Museum will celebrate the MC5's induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on October 12, featuring live music, food trucks, and a ceremonial dedication.

Additionally, the council addressed ongoing concerns about water loss in the city, assuring residents that resources are being allocated to identify and resolve major issues. The meeting concluded with reminders about the importance of community engagement and participation in local events.
