Entrepreneur revamps cinema to boost community engagement

During a recent government meeting, Moctisuma Esparza, a prominent movie producer and entrepreneur, presented an ambitious plan for the renovation of a local movie theater in Yourtown. Esparza, known for his work on films such as \"Selena\" and \"Gods and Generals,\" announced that his new venture, Milagro Cinemas, is investing approximately $6 million to transform the existing theater into a state-of-the-art facility.

The renovation aims to create a modern space that not only features advanced technical qualities but also serves as a community hub. Esparza emphasized the importance of community engagement, highlighting past initiatives from his previous theater circuit, Maya Cinemas, which included scholarship giveaways, events for veterans, and free movie screenings for children with developmental disabilities.

The revamped theater will include a spacious lobby designed to accommodate community events, and Esparza is collaborating with renowned muralist Robert Vargas to create a mural in the lobby. Additionally, a partnership with the Museum of Latin American Art (MOLA) will bring art exhibits to the theater, ensuring that the space remains accessible to the public without requiring a ticket.

Esparza expressed gratitude towards the city manager and staff for their support throughout the project and announced that the theater is set to open in just a week and a half, featuring the highly anticipated film \"Deadpool.\" He is seeking further support for the project, particularly for the art initiatives, as the costs associated with the mural and lobby modifications were not included in the original budget.
