County explores Amazon partnership for airport revenue boost

During a recent government meeting, key discussions centered around community engagement and infrastructure developments. Notably, the Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) announced an open house scheduled for September 10th from 4 to 6 PM at their Baxter location. This event aims to inform the public about plans related to highways 210 and 371, providing an opportunity for community members to engage with the proposed developments.

In another significant update, it was revealed that plans for electric vehicle (EV) charging stations have been halted. Jeff Jonesack reported that despite securing grant funding, the project was deemed financially unviable after a cost-benefit analysis indicated expenses exceeding $100,000, leading to the decision to discontinue the initiative.

Additionally, Chairman Johnson introduced a proposal to explore potential partnerships with Amazon for leasing airport spaces.
