In a heartfelt segment of the meeting, Father Chris from Saint Exterios Greek Orthodox Church in Palatine announced a generous donation of $10,000 in gift cards to assist residents displaced by recent fires at the Orient Apartments. This initiative was made possible through fundraising efforts during the church's Greek Fest, alongside contributions from the Ladies Filoptocha Society. Father Chris emphasized the importance of community support, stating, \"It's better to give than to receive,\" and expressed gratitude for the opportunity to help neighbors in need.
