The meeting highlighted a construction update where the contractor was permitted to build bridal manholes on-site due to delays in receiving concrete manholes. The contractor currently has only four manholes available, and adverse weather conditions have hindered progress.

Community members voiced urgent concerns about road erosion and maintenance, particularly in the Rocky Creek area. Residents, including Allen Mock and Mary Jo Barfield, emphasized the time-sensitive nature of the issue, as heavy rains exacerbate the erosion problem. They expressed frustration over the potential damage to their properties and the need for immediate action.

County officials reassured residents that they are actively working on solutions. The county engineer recently opened bids for road paving, with plans to award a contract on August 6. Officials aim to commence work promptly after the contract is awarded, addressing the deteriorating conditions that have left roads dusty and difficult to navigate.
