County mobilizes resources to tackle storm damage crisis

In a recent government meeting, officials provided updates on recovery efforts following a severe storm that caused significant damage in the county. The Red Cross is set to distribute cleaning totes, with details available on the county's website.

County representatives reported that approximately 900 homes have sustained major damage. Efforts to clear debris are ongoing, with 14 trucks currently deployed on county roads, a number expected to increase to 22 by the end of the week. The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) is also actively involved, with nine signal crews working in the area. Of the 210 traffic signals affected, 111 have been repaired.

Eric Wilson, the operational section chief, highlighted ongoing flood mitigation efforts, including the clearing of Shai Pond Outfalls and the Dixie Drive ditch, which have been obstructed by storm debris. Additionally, four lift stations remain operational on generator power as utilities work to restore full service.
