Zoning Board Approves Controversial Building Expansion Plan

In a recent government meeting, officials discussed zoning regulations and special exceptions concerning a property that is legally non-conforming due to its size. The property, zoned R-1, does not meet the current three-acre minimum requirement but has been permitted for development under existing regulations.

It was decided that properties over two acres could have a larger building size limit of 5,000 square feet, while those under two acres would require special exceptions for any structures exceeding 2,000 square feet.

The meeting concluded with a recommendation for approval of the property owner's request, contingent upon standard conditions that restrict the use of the new building to non-commercial activities.
