Keisha Brown honored for marathon achievements against adversity

During a recent government meeting, Keisha Brushmyr Brown was honored for her remarkable achievements in completing six World Marathon Majors, despite her diagnosis of sarcoidosis in 2010. Representative Frank Sossaman presented her with a certificate of congratulations, praising her determination and resilience. He emphasized that her accomplishments reflect not only her personal strength but also the supportive nature of her family and community.

John Talo, representing U.S. Senator Ted Budd, further recognized Brown by presenting her with a capital flag that had flown over the U.S. Capitol, along with a certificate acknowledging her achievements. In a heartfelt letter, Senator Budd commended Brown for her inspiring journey, highlighting her ability to overcome challenges and serve as a beacon of hope for others facing similar health issues.

The meeting also included a farewell tribute to Steve McNally, the finance director for Granville County, who is retiring after 21 years of public service. McNally's contributions to various significant projects, including the expansion of Granville Central High School and the construction of medical facilities, were acknowledged, marking the end of an impactful career in local government.
