Keisha Brown honored for inspiring marathon achievements

In a recent government meeting, the Granville County Board of Commissioners honored Keisha Brooks Meyer Brown with a proclamation recognizing her remarkable achievements and contributions to the community. Brown, a native of North Carolina, is one of only 17,000 individuals worldwide to have completed all six Abbott World Major Marathons, showcasing her resilience and determination both on and off the race course.

Graduating from North Carolina A&T State University with a Bachelor of Science in Marketing and later obtaining an MBA from the University of Phoenix, Brown has built a diverse professional career. She currently serves as the Smart Collaboration Manager for Partner Sales at Lenovo, with previous roles including Implementation Project Manager at Allscripts Healthcare and Online Experience Transformation Program Manager at Dell Technologies.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Brown has demonstrated exceptional leadership in public service, having served as a former commissioner and mayor pro tem of Creedmoor. Her commitment to community wellness is evident through her founding of the Creedmoor Cruisers, a beginner walk-run group that adapted to a virtual strength training boot camp during the COVID-19 pandemic, fostering a supportive environment for health and fitness.

Brown's personal journey with sarcoidosis, an inflammatory disease affecting multiple organs, has further fueled her passion for fitness and philanthropy. She has raised over $18,000 for various organizations, including the American Cancer Society and Help Age, reflecting her dedication to making a positive impact in the lives of others.
