Parade turns chaotic as gun scare sends crowds fleeing

A recent community celebration in South Seattle took a distressing turn when reports of gunfire disrupted the Chinatown Seafarer Parade. The event, which is the only parade of its kind in the area following the discontinuation of the Central District parade, was marred by chaos as attendees fled in fear after hearing shots fired.

Witnesses described a scene of panic, with families grabbing their children and belongings as they ran for safety. Fortunately, law enforcement responded swiftly to the 911 calls, apprehending a suspect who was found to be in possession of legal firearms. Three juveniles were taken into custody, and while there were no injuries from gunfire, several attendees suffered minor injuries such as twisted ankles and bruises during the evacuation.
