Community program offers free therapy visits to those in need

During a recent government meeting, officials discussed the promotion of a mental health initiative aimed at increasing access to services for individuals and families in need. The program offers three free therapy visits for employees and their family members, with specific exclusions for those currently undergoing treatment with Pawnee or participating in an Employee Assistance Program (EAP) at Pawnee.

The initiative is designed to support those who are uninsured or underinsured, highlighting its value as a significant resource for the community. Participants emphasized the importance of raising awareness about the program, noting that the EAP is currently underutilized and that broader participation from businesses is essential.

In addition to the therapy services, the program provides access to a range of other services, addressing the unique challenges faced by farmers and ranchers, particularly those related to geographical barriers. The meeting also revealed a steady increase in the number of individuals served by the program, with figures rising from 6,640 in 2022 to 7,071 in 2024, indicating a growing demand for mental health care.
