Neighbors demand action after shocking shooting spree

Residents of Faust Drive voiced their concerns over escalating gun violence during a recent city council meeting, highlighting a troubling pattern of criminal activity linked to a specific residence in their neighborhood. Brenda Smith, a long-time resident, detailed a shooting incident that occurred in front of her home on June 11, where over 20 shots were fired, marking at least the fifth shooting tied to the property at 112 Faust Drive in the past two years.

Smith, accompanied by several neighbors, expressed frustration over the lack of action regarding ongoing criminal behavior associated with the Section 8 rental home, occupied by Stephanie Nikas Harrison and her children. The home, owned by Harrison's uncle, has been a focal point of concern, with residents reporting delinquent behavior from teenagers and preteens living there.

Despite previous communications from Councilman Flowers addressing these issues, residents feel their concerns have not been adequately addressed. Smith emphasized that while the majority of the 28 homes in their subdivision are peaceful, the actions of one household are jeopardizing the safety and tranquility of the community.
