Food truck festival draws crowds with tacos and live music

The recent community event at Fuji Park attracted over 300 attendees, featuring 11 food trucks and a variety of activities. Naomi Tacos was awarded the title of best overall taco, while King of Kings won the people's choice award. The event included a DJ, which was well-received, and flyers were distributed for upcoming activities scheduled for Saturday and Sunday.

Feedback from attendees highlighted a desire for more family-friendly activities, as some families found the event costly. Suggestions included increasing entertainment options and improving signage for weekend events. The Saturday portion of the event was noted to be limited, although it did attract over 200 participants for a themed wine event organized by the Downtown Business Association (DBA).

Sunday proved to be the highlight of the weekend, featuring vendors, live music, and mural painting by international artist Edwinesco Martinez. The interactive Palpacado activity for children saw over 50 participants, supported by volunteers from the Carson High Latin Club. Despite the positive turnout, some attendees described the atmosphere as low energy, partly due to competing events at the BAC.

The performances throughout the weekend were well-attended, with one sold-out show exceeding its planned duration, leading to some audience members leaving at intermission. Organizers noted that the additional material added to the performance was well-received, ensuring that attendees felt they received value for their experience. Overall, the event was deemed a success, with positive feedback from art vendors regarding sales and engagement. Plans for next year aim to enhance the experience based on this year's insights.
