Residents demand action to revitalize struggling Greenmont community

Residents of Morgantown gathered at a recent government meeting to voice their concerns and suggestions regarding local issues, particularly focusing on neighborhood safety, infrastructure, and community pride.

One resident, expressing frustration over deteriorating conditions on Pennsylvania Avenue, highlighted the impact of crime and homelessness on the community. He shared personal anecdotes, including his wife's pregnancy and their contemplation of selling their home due to safety concerns. He urged local officials to expedite the allocation of funds designated for housing improvements, emphasizing the urgency of addressing these issues to prevent further decline in property values.

Another speaker, a resident of Kingwood Street, praised the ongoing revitalization efforts in their neighborhood but called for improved signage to enhance community identity. He noted the lack of pride in the current state of the roads and urged officials to prioritize infrastructure improvements.
