Residents rally against commercial development in residential area

Residents of Brush Ranch Estates voiced strong opposition during a recent government meeting regarding a proposed commercial operation in their neighborhood. Jim Reinkel, a local resident, emphasized the importance of adhering to existing Covenants, Conditions, and Restrictions (CC&Rs) that have been in place for years, arguing that these regulations are legally enforceable and should not be disregarded. He expressed concern that allowing the commercial venture could lead to a variety of incompatible businesses, disrupting the residential nature of the area.

Reinkel highlighted the potential negative impacts of increased traffic and congestion on Foothill Road, a popular recreational trailhead that is already experiencing deterioration. He urged the commission to consider relocating the proposed barn to a less intrusive area of the property and to impose strict, enforceable conditions if the application were to be approved.

Another resident, Ali, echoed these concerns, pointing out the poor condition of Foothill Road and the lack of maintenance, particularly during winter months.
