Honoring a veteran's journey from service to community

During a recent government meeting in Roswell, community leaders gathered to honor local veteran Gerald Reisinger for his service in the United States Navy. The meeting commenced with an invocation led by Garrett Holcomb from the First Church of Christ Scientist, emphasizing the importance of wisdom and integrity in public service.

Following the invocation, Airman Reisinger was recognized with a proclamation highlighting his military career, which began in 1982. He served as a plane captain on the USS Carl Vinson and earned several commendations, including the Good Conduct Medal. His military experience not only provided him with opportunities for travel and education but also shaped his commitment to community service.

Reisinger, who now serves as Roswell's landscape architect, was praised for his contributions to the city's beautification efforts. Mayor Pro Tem William Morthland expressed gratitude for Reisinger's dedication, urging citizens to acknowledge the sacrifices made by those in the armed forces.
