Innovative Homeschool Program Thrives with Over 100 Students

In a recent government meeting, officials provided an update on the Vibe educational program, highlighting its robust homeschool assistance initiative and the various options available for students across different grade levels. The program currently employs two full-time and one part-time teacher, serving over 100 students in a structured environment divided into K-6, 7-8, and 9-12 categories.

For elementary students (K-6), the program emphasizes consistency, with each student assigned to a single teacher for their core subjects. In contrast, the 7th and 8th graders, numbering 19, engage with multiple teachers but still participate in daily morning meetings and are required to meet with each teacher twice a week. This structure aims to foster self-reliance among students while maintaining a connection with their educators.

The high school segment of the program is particularly dynamic, with approximately 46 students enrolled in a fully virtual format and an additional 27 participating in a hybrid model, taking some classes in person at the high school. This flexibility allows students to access specialized courses, such as art and woodworking, while still benefiting from the Vibe curriculum.

Additionally, the high school is piloting a new initiative called VHS Boost, designed to support students who need to retake classes or fulfill graduation requirements. This program allows seniors to take classes alongside their peers in a more accommodating setting, utilizing online resources to enhance their learning experience.
