Residents voice safety concerns over Horn Springs development plans

Residents of Horn Springs Road voiced significant concerns during a recent government meeting regarding proposed developments in their area. Key issues raised included safety, transparency, and the preservation of community character.

Tom Freeman, a long-time resident, highlighted the dangers posed by increased traffic from construction activities, particularly for families with young children. He emphasized the need for safety measures as the road becomes busier, expressing that the well-being of local families should be a priority.

Freeman also called for transparency regarding investments in the local golf course, urging officials to disclose financial details to quell rumors and foster trust within the community. He stated, “If there’s anything untoward about how that’s going down, it should be public,” advocating for accountability in local governance.

Another resident, Eric Dodson, criticized the planning process, noting that community meeting notices were poorly timed, potentially leaving residents uninformed about important developments. He expressed frustration over the lack of discussion regarding high-density housing in a predominantly rural area, arguing that such changes could disrupt the community's character.
