EDC launches ambitious plan for Kings Highway Jobs Corridor

In a recent government meeting, the Economic Development Council (EDC) emphasized its collaborative efforts with local governments, nonprofits, and educational institutions to create job opportunities for residents. Deslina Goldstein, chair of the EDC, presented the Kings Highway Jobs Corridor project, highlighting its potential to significantly impact the economic growth of Fort Pierce and its surrounding areas.

Goldstein outlined the project's goals, which include expanding the tax base, enhancing utility services, and fostering a world-class commerce center and industrial corridor. She stressed the importance of collective support from the City of Fort Pierce and the Fort Pierce Utility Authority (FPUA) to realize these objectives.

The EDC aims to develop a comprehensive plan that aligns with the FPUA's mission of providing reliable services while enhancing the community's quality of life. Goldstein noted the EDC's previous successes in similar initiatives, particularly in the Southern Grove Jobs Corridor, and expressed confidence in the potential for growth in North County.

The meeting concluded with a call for collaboration among stakeholders to harness the region's capabilities and set a standard for economic development.
