Community unites to celebrate new skate park and youth achievements

During a recent government meeting in Mesquite, Dana Long, president and co-founder of the local LGBT nonprofit Love Family, addressed the council and community, highlighting the urgent need for improved support for LGBTQ+ youth. Long emphasized the alarming rates of youth suicide within the community and called for greater understanding and acceptance, urging attendees to engage with and learn about the queer community, which she described as integral to the fabric of society.

The meeting also featured updates on community projects, including the development of a new skate park named \"The Skate Yard,\" which was chosen through a community naming contest that attracted over 1,200 submissions.
