Veteran employment program celebrates milestone of 100000 hires

During a recent meeting, representatives from Hire Heroes USA, including Director of Client Service Delivery Elena Comfortori and Georgia Program Manager Romaine Byrd, outlined the organization's mission and impact on veterans and military spouses seeking employment. Comfortori, who has been with the organization for nine years, emphasized the importance of career services in relation to housing stability, highlighting the interconnectedness of employment and overall well-being.

Byrd, an Army veteran with nearly 23 years of service, shared his personal journey from struggling to find employment after his military career to becoming a program manager at Hire Heroes USA. He noted that the organization has significantly improved his chances of securing a job and has helped him transition from client to staff member.

The meeting highlighted the organization's impressive statistics, including an average starting salary of $69,000 for participants, which exceeds the national average. Hire Heroes USA is on track to achieve a milestone of 100,000 lifetime hires later this year, having assisted over 13,900 veterans and spouses in finding employment in the past year alone. Byrd emphasized that their work goes beyond job placement; it is about helping individuals find purpose and stability in their lives.

The organization offers a range of services, including career coaching, resume writing, mock interviews, and mentoring, often facilitated by volunteers and successful alumni. This holistic approach aims to address the various challenges faced by veterans and their families as they transition to civilian life.
