Carnival chaos leads to multiple disorderly conduct charges

A series of disorderly incidents marred local events over the weekend, prompting discussions on security measures and community safety. On Thursday, July 11, two notable disturbances occurred at a dance event. The first incident involved a male who was trespassed from the venue, while the second involved a male recording inappropriate images of female attendees, leading to immediate condemnation.

The following night, July 12, tensions escalated at a carnival where two juvenile females were involved in a physical altercation, resulting in charges of disorderly conduct. As the investigation unfolded, two additional juveniles were implicated, bringing the total to four charged in connection with the fight. A minor incident at the dance also led to a male being trespassed.

On Saturday, July 13, the carnival witnessed further disorder, including an attempt by several individuals to prevent police from confiscating a vape pen from a juvenile. This led to the trespassing of three individuals from the event. Another fight between two juvenile females resulted in one being charged with disorderly conduct.

Alcohol-related incidents were also reported, with two cases of underage possession on the same day. A 17-year-old female was charged after a breathalyzer test revealed a blood alcohol content (BAC) of 0.141, indicating significant intoxication. Additionally, two 20-year-old males were found with beer, one registering a BAC of 0.109.

Overall, the events resulted in a total of six juveniles involved in fights, three charged with underage alcohol possession, and nine individuals trespassed from the venues. Despite the disturbances, authorities noted that there were no arrests or serious incidents, attributing the relatively low number of issues to enhanced security measures in place at the Sky High Complex.
