Community voices concerns over controversial golf course plans

During a recent government meeting, community members expressed significant concerns regarding a proposed maintenance facility at Willow Creek Country Club. Ronald Greenhelge, a former professional golfer and resident, raised questions about the project's planning and execution, particularly regarding its proximity to property lines and the lack of consultation with a golf course architect.

Greenhelge highlighted that the golf course currently requires sand deliveries three times a year, which are facilitated by a large truck that parks on Etienne Way. He questioned the adequacy of traffic engineering studies related to the ingress and egress of such vehicles, emphasizing the need for thorough assessments before proceeding with the project.

Additionally, Greenhelge criticized the decision to place the maintenance facility so close to residential properties, suggesting that alternative locations on the course could be utilized. He proposed that a temporary structure could be erected at the back of the driving range instead of the current plan, which he deemed inappropriate given the history of the site.

Another resident, Ally Terry, echoed Greenhelge's sentiments, expressing confusion over the designation of certain areas as \"disturbed\" and referencing past changes to the course layout that have left residents skeptical about the club's intentions.
