Water Infrastructure Project Set to Transform Irrigation System

In a recent government meeting, officials discussed the construction of a new secondary water booster pump station in the North Village Development, specifically at Coyote Lane. The Central Utah Water Conservancy District has issued a warrant for $39,415 to cover necessary infrastructure improvements, including instrumentation and valving on the canal that will facilitate the transfer of water to the pump station.

The pump station, being developed by the Sorensen Group, is designed to convey secondary water from the canal to a storage tank located at the mouth of Coyote Canyon. This water will primarily be used for irrigation purposes. The project is expected to be operational by May.

During the meeting, officials clarified that the development will be funded through an impact fee system. The Sorensen Group, as the largest developer in the area, will construct the infrastructure, and other developments, such as the Highlands, will also contribute to the impact fees. A portion of these fees will be reimbursed to the developer for their investment in the infrastructure.

The discussion also touched on related infrastructure projects, including sewer conveyance from the Red Leggett's development, although details on that topic were less clear. Overall, the meeting highlighted significant progress in enhancing the secondary water system to support irrigation needs in the growing North Village area.
